hi seif,

great extension, love it!
unfortunately, i`m still experiencing "search issue": when i type in overview, the most recent app is no longer highlightend with gnome-shell-zeitgeist enabled. instead, when hitting enter, websearch starts. i am using ubuntu 11.10 with gnome-shell 3.2.1
help would be great, thanks!

Thanks for responding, Seif — sorry I didn't spot this for so long.

I guess the answer to the question of "which apps?" is... well... all of them! That I've tried, at least.

I assume we're talking about the application that's consuming the Zeitgeist history, not the ones that are "creating" it (for lack of a better word). In which case, mainly I've tried the GNOME Activity Manager, which I realize I conflated with "Zeitgeist" in my original comment, sorry for the confusion there. But I'm now using the gnome-shell Journal extension you mention in this article, and find that it also omits since-deleted files from the history display.

Those are really the only Zeitgeist apps I've encountered, so far, other than the gnome-shell Jump Lists extension — But in that case, of course, ignoring deleted files is absolutely the correct thing to do.

It's onerous to seek out educated individuals on this subject, however you sound like you recognize what you're talking about! Thanks
It is best to participate in a contest for among the best blogs on the web. I'll suggest this site!

I already have Skype downloaded on my computer with my own account. And my friend has an Android powered phone with Skype on it but we tried to make an account on their phone but the connection was too slow. And their home computer is broken. So, is there any way I can just create a new Skype account on the computer and just sign them on on their phone without downloading Skype again?

Thank you!

Hello Seif,
a completely unrelated question: are you considering adapting your Gnome Shell Journal extension to work under Cinnamon? I've been using it under Linux Mint 12 and it's great, now that I started using Cinnamon I miss it quite a lot.

Thanks for considering it,

Thanks for updates! Informations from you are always welcome :)
The design of the clocks app looks really nice. Looking at the design proposals, i've got one idea:

Wouldn't it be nice, to have the possibility, to assign a webcam to each clock instead of a static picture? So with one click, you could not only see what time it is elsewhere, but also how the city looks like... This would be an awesome "world" view for me!

I think the dasher icon to show "more apps" could be better. Since the icon is on the dasher with other app icons it needs to differentiate itself from just another app icon. A gears icon says to me "configure" something. Perhaps an icon that shows "..." which is more universally understood as something left out or hidden. Clicking it would show "more".
