Rhythmbox rocking Zeitgeist

We are very busy preparing:

  1. Zeitgeist 0.4
  2. GAJ 0.3.5
  3. Sezen 0.1
  4. Zeitgeist-Extensions  0.1 (Tracker, Geo-Location and Full Text Search)
  5. Zeitgeist-Loggers 0.1 (Package with plugins for apps to send infos to Zeitgeist)
  6. LibZeitgeist (A C wrapper around our D-Bus API)

But most interesting would be some integration we are working on to blend into the desktop experience… we have a new plugin that displays some of the statistics of your listening habits in Rhythmbox. It needs some polishing and will be released with the next wave of release.

I like how Zeitgeist is getting into loads of places, I hope what you are showing here is just a demonstration of what you can do with zeitgeist and let the developers of those applications integrate as needed. I can see a great need for this, if it was integrated neatly into the application, pulling parts of zeitgeist that you wanted. For example using zeitgeist to create “Smart Playlists”

Would it ever be able to replace something like Genius on iTunes?

Now that you have a modern laptop, is there any hope we might also see this kind of integration with the true awesomeness that is Banshee?

I don’t know why but my browser doesn’t show this page correctly… However, it was a very interesting read, keep up the good work and I’ll be back soon

It would be great fors stats like this if completely random tracks were left out, i.e. if you select shuffle with all tracks/all artists. So it only shows info on tracks you’ve played deliberately or by shuffling within a specific album/artist.

Best you should edit the post title Seilo @ Geeky Ogre » Blog Archive » Rhythmbox rocking Zeitgeist to more suited for your subject you make. I liked the post still.
