There's one thing more: search results could be ordered taking into account what you usually use when you are physicall in some place (eg suggest work stuff when you are in the office, and favorite streaming url's when you're at home...)

What about also tracking the wired and wireless connection names? they are a good approximation of "location" for laptops without any way to tell actual position.

Michael, a lot of people visit clients in the job, sometimes a lot of clients, so having something to keep track of what you did where is absolutely useful. Also, imagine you remember watching a clip, noticing a certain actor. The next day you and you're friend are discussing the clip but neither of you remember what it's called, but you remember that you watched it while visiting your parents. etc etc.. Maybe this functionality isn't there yet, but still, forgetting what you watched and listend to, read and wrote etc.. in a world where we're being bombarded with information, that IS awesome.

A quick note, implementation in journal is being done in a plugin. This is the type of feature that I would like to be entirely optional and out of the way.

I don't get it, what's the point in knowing what I did on my way home? What's the real use case here? Who works like this? For sure I don't. Detecting a solution in search for a problem here.
