    Thank you, Seif. This one looks really great, greater than the standard view IMO. I would like to suggest a “collapse” button for those lines with the dates.
    I’m really looking forward to Zeitgeist more than anything else in GNOME 3.

    There is wasted space on the toolbar : maybe you could stretch the search entry to use available space in the toolbar ?

    @DavidM just finished implementing that feature

    @antistress There is a statistics button coming there :)

    I thought the whole point of the journal was getting rid of the file system? The file paths are not important and clutter the list a lot. The “Show all” button feels out of place. Make it a checkbox that enables/disables all the other checkboxes. My last complaint is make the House icon a label with “Today”, it clashes with the home folder. :)

    In addition to Hylke’s suggestions, the path line could be replaced with a list of tags.

    Just a minor issue, but could you make the toolbar stretch to fill the entire width? It seems as if the toolbar is inside another container which leaves the borders on the sides. This clashes with some themes which have dark toolbars but light window backgrounds.

    Overall, its great

    @Hylke
    Ok I took out the paths
    It used to be a checkbox but somehow it was odd :) but i can do it again and shwo it to you. I wanted to ask for a better bookmark icon.

    I don’t think you can find a metaphor for today therefore you’ll have to show a label on that button

    I think knowing the file paths isn’t a bad thing. If they clutter the list, they could be moved in a status bar (maybe with the file size) or in a tooltip.
